 KTM Goes Green?
I’m sure some of you savvy KTM-heads have seen this already, but I recently stumbled back upon it and couldn’t help but day-dream about the future….
No, KTM is not changing their colors to green, but they did put out a press release and test photos of their latest prototype creation: The KTM Zero Emissions Motorcycle. This lithium battery-powered monster tips the scales just under what a 125EXC does and has a “race condition” battery life of about 40 minutes. The ZEM is no slouch when it comes to performance either and should be Ready-to-Race in as little as two years.

Now Into a little Supermoto…
In his fourth crack at it, Troy Herfoss has become the 2008 AMA / XTRM Supermoto Champ! Troy played the consistency game all season long and came into the final round with a slim 8-point lead. Just to make the rest of the HMC / KTM crew gnaw their finger nails a little harder, Troy stalled it on the opening lap one of the weekend and was forced to mount a charge from behind. The friendly Australian worked his way all the way up to second by race’s end, setting him up to clinch the championship on day two with a 10th place or better.
Troy ended his season on a high note when he grabbed the final spot on the podium in Sunday’s program; just in time to go road racing in 2009—a goal he’s striven towards since childhood. Congratulations Troy and good luck!
Not to be outdone, KTM’s Steve Drew also locked down the AMA Unlimited Class championship. Great job Steve!

 I hope some of you took our advice from the last blog-spot and caught the final round of the Maxis Endurocross Series in Vegas because it sounds like it was barn-burner of a race! The series finale saw a star-studded KTM cast of Justin Soule, Kurt Caselli, Taddy Blazusiak, Mike Brown, Bobby Prochnau, Geoff Aaron, Mike Brown and Sebastien Tortelli all line up for one night of endurocross.
Poland’s Blazusiak lead the charge for KTM early but the two-wheel drive Christini KTM of Geoff Aaron capitalized on an early mistake to grab the top position for KTM.
